Our Founder

N.I.A. Kids was founded by LaTara C. Thompkins.  Mrs. Thompkins is the product of a family of singers and performers. She also grew up singing in the church choir, received formal vocal training, and was able to showcase her talent and compete locally in the Dallas area. As a student at Prairie View A& M University, Mrs. Thompkins was a featured soloist in the national award winning Baptist Student Movement Choir.  She has also recorded with local gospel artists in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and is a member of the local gospel group Devotion. Her love for children, the arts, and her own God-given talent as a songstress are what inspired her to form this organization. Mrs. Thompkins is a true children’s and youth advocate. She also owns and operates the Perfected Praise Childcare Center in DeSoto, TX.
